Panda Antivirus Windows 7
Panda Antivirus Review & Test on a Windows 7 Computer by Brandy Cross I recently purchased a new computer (a few months ago) after my original broke down for the umpteenth time. Normally I do use AVG free as it works pretty well and I know how to remove viruses that it can’t. Samsung Software Updater.
According to Panda Security, Panda Antivirus Pro 2009 is currently available in Beta and is designed to integrate with Beta Build 7000 of Windows 7. The security company has failed to indicate whether both 32-bit and 64-bit variants of Windows 7 are supported. I wrote this Panda antivirus review for the 2013 version of Panda Securities pro antivirus. I tested it on a Windows 7 computer, this is my review.
However, due to special circumstances and a free trial, I decided to write a Panda Antivirus review. I tested Panda Antivirus Pro rather than Panda Cloud Antivirus, and here are the results of my review. Panda Antivirus Review First things first, I’m going to cover everything about Panda, including some things such as download speed and CPU usage that I haven’t really noticed in other Panda antivirus reviews. The full price purchase of Panda Antivirus is $39.95 and includes a few features that you won’t usually see on most antivirus systems. Panda Security includes USB vaccination to remove the risk of catching a USB virus, a firewall, Windows patch test, virtual machine safe browser, and network management. Download: My Panda download was disappointingly slow, I am used to downloading free options such as AVG free so those are a little more lightweight. The download took about five minutes and the install a great deal longer; don’t try installing this one if you are in a hurry.
This was on a computer less than a few months old. As a comparison, I downloaded/installed AVG free after my test at about half the time. Installation: The first thing I noticed about Panda during installation is that it’s pretty colorful. If you’re tired of pastels and boring antivirus protectors, this one is definitely for you. Installation goes pretty quickly considering the time of the download. Other users have noted that Panda doesn’t always install if you already have malware on your computer.
Creative Surround Mixer 2.0. Interface: Pandas interface is really nice, and if I could switch out this one for the one on my free antivirus system, I definitely would. The interface is probably the most positive part of my Panda security review because it’s clean, colorful, alive, and easy to navigate and use and it’s set on a black background which is really nice. Buttons are arranged in categories of ‘protection’, ‘maintenance’, ‘updates’.
And then you can also choose ‘status’, ‘scan,’ ‘reports’, ‘quarantine,’ or ‘services’, as well. Scans: Probably one of the most important aspects of the Panda antivirus review, the scans are also mainly where Panda is lacking.
I will note that the first scan does take a while, but once Panda knows what is in your system, it is really fast (as in a few minutes to scan). For reliability, I noticed and some other reviewers have also noticed that Panda does not always pick up all of the malware on the system.
It’s not the worst for malware detection, but it really isn’t the best either. Pl2303 Win7 Driver Installer. I would say that it finds about 80% of malware threats, which isn’t really great if you do get a lot of viruses. Another thing is, Panda antivirus doesn’t actually prevent your computer from downloading malware. All in all for virus detection, Panda Cloud does much better for the price, especially considering that reports rank it about 100% for picking up malware, making it at the top of the line for choices. Panda Antivirus Features Panda antivirus features a variety of nice options including an optional firewall that you will have to set up yourself. Parental controls and safe browsing are great features for anyone with kids, and network management can help you to get around your windows clunky version of the same. • Firewall • Antivirus Scan • Identity Protection • Vulnerability Detection • Risk Calculator • Anti-Spam Filter • Parental Controls • Backups • Network Management • Virtual Keyboard • USB Vaccine Is Panda Security a Good Choice?
If you’re looking for a nice affordable antivirus that will mostly defend you from malware and includes a variety of great features, yes, Panda is a great choice. If you frequently get in trouble with malware, visit porn sites, or tend to click on any link you see, you might want to go with Panda Cloud, or a competitor that ranks higher on malware detection. *updated 6/12/2015 to update.
