Finn and Jake were at an abandoned place where Jake becomes crazy thirsty and asks Finn for water. The Underworld Sorcerer offers him water but after drinking it, they realize it was the Water of Forgetfulness. Except for the first and last level, there are multiple enemies in a level and you will have to defeat all of them in one go to clear the level. Finn can have four items with him at once. A shield, a sword and two rings. They all can carry two of the four attributes: Attack, Defense, Health and Luck.

Attack increases the damage done to the enemies, Defense decreases the health damage when enemies attack you, Health attribute increases your health to last longer in the battle and Luck attribute increases your chances of Critical Hits (which do almost double the damage of a normal hit) and Blocks (which completely block the enemy attack). One item can carry two attributes at max at a single time. You can save similar attribute in multiple items. Attributes also have a value and a limit to that value. When you win a level, you will win some items as loot from that level. You can pick up those items and store them into your inventory.

You can then mix those items with the existing items to make powerful weapons. For example your sword carries the attack attribute and you win the Small Attack Potion at the end of the level, you can then mix those two using the “Mixer” provided at the bottom left of the game to “mix” those items to increase the attack of your sword. You can keep doing this unless the attack limit of the sword is reached after which, adding more attack items in the sword will be useless. You can, though, add an item of health/defense/luck to the sword and it will start accumulating the added attribute in it along-with the attack attribute. As said earlier, all things can hold two attributes at max.

While mixing the items, you will have to keep in mind that the sword must have the Attack attribute. The second attribute can be changed any time. Similarly, the shield must have the defense attribute, the second attribute is optional. The rings can have any of two attributes. While putting items in the mixture, beware of the placement of items. Only the thing placed at the left side in the mixer remains at last. So if you place the potion at left and sword at right, the sword is going to vanish and without sword, you are going to have a bad time.
