Hi Long, I am not quite sure I understand what you desire to do. So here is a possible answer, if it's not exactly what you wanted then can you explain in further detail what you want to achieve. If your device has a serial port you can typically configure a PPP (or SLIP) connection manually by going into the Settings start menu option, clicking the Connections tab and adding a new connection via the 'Add a new modem connection' option. If the device you are connecting to isn't a modem, then you may have to play with the 'Use Terminal before connecting' and other related options found via the Advanced button during the wizard. Once configured you can click a 'managed existing connections' link which will bring up a list of connections. Tap and Holding on one of these will allow you to select a Connect or Disconnect menu option. Is this what you wanted?
This setup process can also be achived programatically via Configuration Service Providers (CSP). Hope it helps, Christopher Fairbairn. Hi Long Lee, If my understanding is correct, you have a device which has some form of network connectivity and exposes this over a serial port as a PPP interface. If that is the case (which is what I suspected) when you go through the wizard to create your connection I would suggest you select the 'Enter dialing commands manually' option found on the 'Port Settings' tab after you press the 'Advanced' button.
This will mean when you go through the UI and ask the connection to connect it will pop up a window where it is assumed you will enter AT commands etc as required to get a PPP connection up and running. Since your device simply exposes a PPP interface, you should be able to select 'Continue' within the 'File' menu to skip this step and the OS should take over and start configuring the PPP connection. Hope this helps, Christopher Fairbairn PS: When going through this wizard you will have to enter a dummy phone number. The UI won't allow you to proceed without a phone number, but if you use the 'Enter dialing commands manually' option as mentioned above this phone number shouldn't be utilised at all.

Hi Christopher, Thanks for taking the time to reply to my inquiry. Your inputs are helpful to get me start on the right direction.
Whether I can make it works the way I want is another issue. Basically, the serial connection is not to a modem but to another device that has wireless device that the hand-held device can use for its wireless communication. I just want to map the serial com to the socket driver layer via PPP configuration by specify the Com port for the PPP and I will have to play around with different setting to make this work.
