The Last Drakkar Tool
Sorry for responding late. The last time i smelt the regular Drakker must have been in the very early 80s. All i remember about it now is that though it was quite good (i would buy it today) it paled beside Drakker Noir though it had some distant commonalities with it. Convolution Patch Pure Data.
Personally, i believe DN's marketing, release date and availability in almost all drugstores have beclouded people's perception of this really nice frag as a common cheapo, regardless of its own olfactory merits. I know i will always love Drakker Noir, the same way i feel about Old Spice, Brut, Tabac Original and the other oldies. Brochure Psd here.
Hope you guys don't mind me jumping into the discussion: I'm still frightened about this, but I used to wear Drakkar in my first year of college. And that was very recently!! I finnished my bottle too! And to be honest, I never thought of D.N. As that strong of a fragrance??!!
When I think about it now, I just don't know why I didn't think so. And honestly, I can barely remember what is had smelled like. To me, it was pretty boring. It had the lemon in the top set of notes, and the rest I could not make out.

Being the young buck I was, I was into Polo Blue and Dolce & Gabbana pour Homme. And yet, Drakkar Noir seemed pretty pedestrian to me. Couple of things though. I found that I had a hard time making friends that year in school.so take that for what its worth.
